The B.C. Lions are listed as 7-point favorites on the CFL betting lines at the Bodog Sportsbook for Sunday’s Grey Cup, but the wagering opportunities for the league’s championship contest don’t end there.
Just like with the Super Bowl, the Grey Cup betting board is chock full of proposition wagers, including some that will put money into your pocket almost immediately.
The Lions are listed as the -145 favorite to score first on Sunday, something they did against the Edmonton Eskimos in the Western Final last time out – Paul McCallum booted a pair of first-quarter field goals to stake his team to a 6-0 lead.
The Bombers are the +115 underdog on that prop bet, and they gave up the first points of the Eastern Final to Hamilton; the Tiger-Cats kicked a field goal in the first quarter, the only points they managed to score in the 19-3 defeat.
You can also get -200 odds that the team that scores first on Sunday ends up winning the game, while the Lions are at -175 to score the contest’s first 10 points. The Blue Bombers are the +125 underdogs to put the first 10 points of the game on the board, while correctly guessing neither team will score 10 points pays off at +4000 odds.
The Lions and Blue Bombers combined for 30 points in the second quarter of their respective division finals last weekend, and the second quarter is the +125 favorite to be the highest-scoring frame on Sunday. The fourth quarter is next at +200, with the third quarter at +400, and the first quarter the underdog at +700.
Also, correctly picking the game to go into overtime this weekend pays off at +1200.
And if you’re looking for player props for the Grey Cup, the OVER/UNDER on passing yards for Winnipeg quarterback Buck Pierce is at 245.5, and for B.C. quarterback Travis Lulay it’s at 255.5.
Pierce is also at 7/2 CFL odds boards, with Lulay at 2/1 on those CFL lines right now.
