It’s the final week of the CFL’s regular season schedule, and we still don’t know how the playoff picture will shape up. The West Division’s best offensive team will host the East Division’s strongest defenders on Saturday when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit the Calgary Stampeders.

These two teams have only met once this season. The Stampeders edged the Bombers 21-20 in Week 3, when a fumble with less than five minutes to play allowed Calgary to come from behind for the win.
Winnipeg QB Buck Pierce will be given the game off as he recovers from a sprained right knee. Backup QB Alex Brink will get the start. Brink was brought into last Friday’s game against the Argos when his team was down 17-3. He was 16-for-27 with 219 passing yards and a touchdown in the eventual loss.
Meanwhile, Calgary QB Henry Burris has been having a down year. He’ll likely finish the campaign with his lowest totals for completions, passing yards and touchdowns for a season in which he’s played at least 15 games.
In last Sunday’s game against Montreal, Calgary WR Johnny Forzani had six catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns and was named CFL top Canadian for the week. It was Calgary’s eighth player-of-the-week award and Forzani’s second nod as top Canadian on the season.
A Blue Bombers victory guarantees that Winnipeg will get the first round bye in the playoffs over Montreal, as they hold the tiebreaker advantage in the East. With Calgary, BC and Edmonton all tied at 10-7 in the West, things are a bit trickier.
